Encinitas, Del Mar, Solana Beach, Rancho Santa Fe, and Elfin Forest CERT Team Members,
Our next general meeting will be at 6:00 PM, Tuesday February 26 2019, at the Encinitas Community Center, 1140 Oakcrest Drive (nearest cross-street: Encinitas Blvd and Balour Drive). A light meal will be provided.
We’ll start with a review of CERT Programming for 2018 and a look towards the future and our plans for 2019. Following that there will be a presentation by TIP (Trauma Intervention Program of San Diego). TIP last presented at our General Meeting in January 2016.
“TIP is a volunteer organization, that has been serving citizens for more than 30 years. We get called on scene by the first responders, to be with someone who is going through a traumatic event. We provide emotional and practical support, within the first few hours. The presentation that I will be sharing, is an overview of our EFA (emotional first aid) skills. These are skills that can benefit everybody, whether you are a TIP member or not. These skills are essential, as we do not want to cause further harm, either with words or actions.”
For more information see Trauma Intervention Program of San Diego County.
Note: Because it’s outside the scope of the CERT core curriculum, this presentation does NOT satisfy the DSW Renewal annual training requirement.
Please come join us to meet up with fellow CERT members. We look forward to seeing you there.
If you are planning to attend this meeting please RSVP to email@example.com so that we’ll know how much food to provide.
