Effective March 25, the meeting will be at the Solana Beach Fire Station. See below for details.
[Rescheduled from original February 26].
Encinitas, Del Mar, Solana Beach, Rancho Santa Fe, and Elfin Forest CERT Team Members,
Our next general meeting will be at 6:00 PM, Thursday March 28 2019, at the Solana Beach Fire Station, 500 Lomas Santa Fe Drive, corner of Nardo Ave, west of I-5: https://www.google.com/maps/place/500+Lomas+Santa+Fe+Dr,+Solana+Beach,+CAfirstname.lastname@example.org,-117.2676632,18z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x80dc0932d7f0bda5:0x1d067733edeed85!8m2!3d32.9952069!4d-117.2665689 . Note that there is limited parking at the Fire Station, but there is ample parking in the evening at the professional center immediately east of the FS.
A light meal will be provided.
We’ll start with a review of CERT Programming for 2018 and a look towards the future and our plans for 2019. Following that there will be a presentation by TIP (Trauma Intervention Program of San Diego). TIP last presented at our General Meeting in January 2016.
“TIP is a volunteer organization, that has been serving citizens for more than 30 years. We get called on scene by the first responders, to be with someone who is going through a traumatic event. We provide emotional and practical support, within the first few hours. The presentation that I will be sharing, is an overview of our EFA (emotional first aid) skills. These are skills that can benefit everybody, whether you are a TIP member or not. These skills are essential, as we do not want to cause further harm, either with words or actions.”
For more information see Trauma Intervention Program of San Diego County.
Note: Because it’s outside the scope of the CERT core curriculum, this presentation does NOT satisfy the DSW Renewal annual training requirement.
Please come join us to meet up with fellow CERT members. We look forward to seeing you there.
If you are planning to attend this meeting please RSVP to email@example.com so that we’ll know how much food to provide. If you had previously RSVPd for Feb 26 that has been deleted; we request that you do so again for March 28.
