There will be a CERT Meeting AND TRAINING for all members from Del Mar, Encinitas, Rancho Santa Fe and Solana Beach on Monday, May 20th. A current DSW card is not required for participation, and this event will qualify for half your annual participation.
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ASK YOU TO BRING YOUR CERT BAG SO YOU’LL HAVE YOUR SAFETY GEAR TO WEAR DURING THE TRAINING. This includes hard hat, goggles, a dust mask, and gloves. Close-toed shoes are also required.
This meeting will primarily be the Firefighting module from the Basic CERT Training, including the classroom instruction and the hands-on use of fire extinguishers.
The vision is that the communities will hold four of these core-curriculum trainings each year, and participation in any two of them will qualify for “annual participation” towards DSW (“CERT”) card renewal.
This will be the first offered this year, and qualify for half your annual participation. A current DSW Card is not required to participate in this training.
The meeting will be at 7 PM at the Solana Beach Fire Station. The Fire Station is at 500 Lomas Santa Fe Drive, corner of Nardo Ave, west of Interstate-5: Google Maps Link
Note that there is some parking at the Fire Station, including behind the building. Please do not use the extra-wide space with orange cones at the side of the “garage” because that is where the ambulance needs to park. There is also ample parking in the evening at the professional center immediately east of the FS, which is no further to walk than if you park in the back of the station.
