Volunteers Needed – Oktoberfest Oct 1 2017

CERT Team Member,

Encinitas CERT (EncCERT) will be participating in the Encinitas Oktoberfest
Sunday October 1. These community outreach events have been one of the primary
sources for citizens to sign up for EncCERT as well as donors and grantors to
see the EncCERT programs and progress. It is an important event for us. EncCERT
will be promoting the “Are You Ready” and “Hand’s Free CPR” programs as well,
and our Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) will be on display next to the booth.

Volunteers will briefly explain CERT responsibilities and emergency preparedness
to, and collect basic contact information from, those who stop by and are interested in our
programs. Handouts and brochures will be used.

Volunteers are needed to work two-hour shifts between the hours of 8 AM and
6:00 PM. As a volunteer you’ll be expected to hand out brochures and take
down the names of folks interested in our programs… easy peasy!

If you have never participated in one of these events you’ll find it fun,
friendly, and relaxed. You’ll have an opportunity to meet friends, other
EncCERT members, and make new friends. So sign up for a time block!

The Encinitas Oktoberfest will feature The Bluebird band, dressed in genuine Bavarian “Tracht”, the Gemuetlichkeit Alpine dancers and a street craft faire featuring over 200 vendors, including artisans with unusual arts and craft items. The family food and refreshment tent will be serving authentic German food and beers from national & local breweries. The location is Mountain Vista Drive and El Camino Real.

More information about the event, sponsored by the Encinitas Chamber of Commerce,
is at Encinitas Oktoberfest.
